Northumberland is currently involved in a national project called Person Centred Thinking for people with Dementia. The key aim of this project will be to engage with 20 care home managers in each of the 12 Local Authority areas within the North East and support them to implement person-centred practices in services which are supporting people living with dementia.
Within Northumberland I am the Training Lead for Person Centred Thinking working in partnership with Northumberland County Council Contracts & Commissioning team and we have the opportunity for another 5-6 services to join the programme. The results of the project will be fed back to Debbie Smith The Lead for Dementia in the North East.
There is an initial self-assessment that needs to be completed by services to see where you feel you are at with personalisation.
You will need to attend a full day training to gain all the skills needed to start implementing the tools within your service, I will be available for support and advice to services when you are implementing the tools.
I will be writing a blog to keep you all informed about what is happening ….. speak to you all soon 🙂
You can sign up for this course by signing up to Learning Together then searching for “Person Centred Thinking Training” in the “Find courses” option.
