I’ve had a busy few weeks, I’ve been attending a girls group in Hexham this month and we have been discussing relationships and keeping ourselves healthy. It got me thinking that I should really go and to get a check-up at the Sexual Health Clinic and look into my contraception options, as I’m not ready to be a mum. I rang the advice and appointment line on 01670 515151 and made an appointment at the Morpeth Clinic, although I could of attended any of the clinics they run throughout Northumberland.
The staff were very friendly and the nurses are helpful, taking their time to talk to me about contraception, emergency contraception, pregnancy tests, free condoms, STI testing and treatment. They also had some leaflets specifically for women with learning difficulties that I was able to take home to read.
