November Newsletter 2014

Welcome to our November newsletter.

We still have a full training programme available on Learning Together. If you still have not registered for LDU Community online please contact and we will be happy to help.

LDU Community ran this event at Choppington on 7th November in conjunction with City and Guilds around the new care certificate. This was very well attended by 40 services and 60 individuals and feedback was really positive on the day from attendees.   The event ended with directed group activities and the results will be collated and sent out to you once they are available.   We have attached a copy of the presentation for your information.

If you would like further information please contact Julia Marley 01670 629033

Launch of “SELF REGISTRATION” on LDU Community Online —

Did you know that individuals are now able to register themselves on Learning Together?

Managers no longer need to complete ‘new starter’ forms, then wait for us to send you user names — individuals can now set up their own accounts directly onto the system! It takes seconds to do, and your account is active immediately.

A couple of things to note before your staff do this:

  1. Please make sure the manager of the service, or whoever will be the authorising manager, has an account already – if your staff apply for any courses that require manager approval, they will need to be able to select the correct person to authorise their booking.
  2. An email address is now required for each individual. This can be work or personal – this is by far the most effective way to make use of the full benefits of LDU Community Online – they will receive confirmations of bookings, reminders for courses that they’ve booked onto, and notifications of changes or cancellations of courses. If individuals don’t have email addresses, it is very quick and easy to create their own, via Yahoo, Google, Hotmail, etc.

Please see attachment for a ‘How To Guide’ giving easy instructions on how to do this, however, within a week or so, there will be videos on the LDU Community Online ‘login’ page to walk people through the process

As always you can contact LDU Community and we will be happy to help.
