Target Group:Social workers and care managers employed by NCC and NHFT

 

Learning Outcomes: Including:

 

  • Refreshed awareness of the provisions & principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 – as they relate to Best Interests Decision making.
  • Increased confidence to enable clients to participate as fully as possible in decision making, & to apply anti-oppressive strategies in a mindful & effective manner.
  • Knowing who is the Decision Maker? Gaining the confidence to act in this role.
  • Who are the other players in the Best Interests process? Who should be consulted?
  • Understanding the necessary relationship between MH1 & MC2 documentation, related guidance & defensible practice.
