Hate Crime – Awareness for Practitioners

Event Overview:  

This 3 hour workshop aims to give practitioners a greater understanding of Hate Crime and Hate Incidents, the impact on victims and communities and the legislative context in tackling hate crime incidents.  Practitioners will be provided with information for the reporting of hate crime incidents and the support available for victims.

Practitioners will be able to identify the links with this subject and that of the wider safeguarding agenda, in particular PREVENT.

Adult Social Care and Support Staff from NHCT, NCC

Including:

  • Gain an increased understanding of Hate Crime and Hate Incidents and the impact of such on victims and the wider community
  • Identify the legislative context in relation to Hate Crime
  • Recognise the national and local context for reporting hate crime incidents
  • Develop personal and professional skills  to help you support people who are victims of hate crime
  • Identify the links of hate crime within the wider Safeguarding Adults agenda
