Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC)

Event Overview: The main aim of MARAC is to reduce the risk of serious harm or homicide for a victim and to increase the safety, health and wellbeing of victims – adults and any children.  In a MARAC local agencies will meet to discuss the highest risk victims of domestic abuse in their area.


The frequency of this training is once.


Target Group: 

  • Social workers and care managers employed by NCC and NHFT


Learning Outcomes: 



  • To define and understand MARAC


  • To understand what MARAC does


  • To Identify how to refer to MARAC procedures within Northumberland


  • To identify what underpins MARAC


This training is being run alongside the Domestic Abuse Training. Attendees can opt to attend one part of the day or both, according to their learning needs. However it will be assumed that people attending the MARAC Awareness will have undertaken a Domestic Abuse Awareness Workshop within the past three years.
