Safeguarding Adults – Joint Working & Criminal Investigations (Level 4)

Event Overview: This is a one day workshop that will focus upon developing a mutual understanding of the complimentary and supportive roles of the police, LA/Trust and other agencies when a crime has been committed, and progressing this within safeguarding procedures


The frequency of this training is once.


Target Group: 

Operational and Team Mangers of care management teams;

Band 6 (or NCC equivalent) social workers and community learning disability nurses from both NHCT and NCC


Learning Outcomes: 


  • Have an overview of the decision making model within the Investigative mindset.
  • Understand how best evidence is achieved.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the different roles and responsibilities of all agencies involved in investigations and ensure these are met
  • Understand the legislation within safeguarding work, e.g. Youth Justice and Criminal Evidence Act 1999
  • Understand the principles of Investigative interviewing
  • Be familiar with Information Sharing protocols within the organisation.
  • Have an understanding of future practice recommendations from serious case reviews.
